Within four weeks of their seeing our
Web site in Spanish in July 2000, we acquired a broker
relationship with an industrial water treatment broker
and distributor who serves all of the northern states in
Mexico. In August 2000 we made our first substantial
shipment to that company. What we predicted as a
lucrative relationship has generated new business at
least 100 times the amount for the translation, a VERY
good return on our investment. That investment includes
not only the initial cost of Web site translation but
also the translation of supporting documents such as
Water Treatment Fundamentals, product bulletins, MSDS,
test procedures, and environmental, health, and safety
information. In addition, we plan to build on the number
of leads from prospective customers and distributors
from Spanish-speaking countries, which is up 300%-400%
in the two-year time period.
Although we can't put a dollar or percentage value on
customer retention due to increased customer
satisfaction created by meeting the needs of
Spanish-speaking employees, we know that this has
occurred, and is a direct result of the Mexican
company's appreciation of us taking the time and trouble
to put up a Spanish Web site, not only for better
communication, but also because they feel respected.
Within two months after posting our Spanish language Web
site our inquiries not only tripled but were much more
specific since the person viewing the site could tell
quite a bit more about the scope of our products and
services. Many of our U.S. customers have
Spanish-speaking staff and have been very appreciative
of the fact that their staff can find out a little more
about their water treatment vendor in their native
language.
We consider WebTra's fast work and absolutely perfect
Neutral Spanish an unqualified success. We have a
wonderful person here who speaks Spanish as her first
language and she was very complimentary of your work.
